Rocky's Plaice

Back on the web by popular demand---here are the photos from Rocky's Plaice.
Everyday for a week 40 children gathered at Rocky's Plaice - a fish and chip restaurant in the church hall!

Rocky's Plaice was an action-packed, fast-moving holiday club for 5 to 11 year olds.

Art, crafts, games, music, drama and stories kept everyone occupied as they found out about Peter - Rocky to his friends.

For Rocky life was never the same after he met Jesus. His life was changed, and he and his friends started to change the world with the message of the risen Jesus.

Nikki fundraising for The Light Project
What's this all about I here you ask. Nikki Andrews our light teamer has been raising funds for the work of The Light Project. She took some time out from her busy schedule to run round Chester Zoo and managed to photograph 754 different animals!

Well done Nikki!

Take a look here to see the video of her intrepid photo-safari.

Don't forget to sponsor her on paper in church or online here - oh and thanks :-)

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 15th-21st May

2011 Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. It provides urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.
Christian Aid works with and through partners overseas: churches, ecumenical bodies, local NGOs and movements who have common values and competence in poverty eradication. Christian Aid provides humanitarian relief, works with local partners on long term development programmes, and campaigns for change to address the causes of poverty.
Can you help make a difference?

Questions from Sunday Evening 8th May

We are the Body of Christ and Paul prays that the church in Ephesus might see exactly what it is that God is calling them to do (The Message). Do you know what God is calling you to do in church, and outside where you find yourself during the week?

We have a rich inheritance awaiting us, but we are His agents now with a job to do bringing in more of His Kingdom here on earth today. How much of Christ's presence is seen in our neighbourhood through St. Mark's and the Lighthouse? And what might it require of us to be a growing influence on those around us?

Do we really believe that the mighty power that raised Jesus Christ is ours to experience - and if we do what should we expect to be happening in our church? Sadly, I think we prefer to keep tight reins on our own lives rather than allowing the Holy Spirit free rein to take over our lives, and the life of God's church.

If you do discuss these questions in your Home Groups Hennie would love to have your feedback - she would also love to be invited to visit your Home Group!

Welcome
