A Different Taste @ St Marks

PHEW ! Finally, after much planning, preparation and a few stresses, we had the launch for our all new Community Café, ‘A Different Taste @ St. Marks’ on Thursday 7th June 2012. Even the weather could not dampen the excitement of all the volunteers and guests.
The rain just stopped enough for Mayor Dave Evans to open ‘A Different Taste @ St. Marks’ by cutting the ribbon.

Rev. Hennie Johnston then welcomed everyone and prayed the Jubilee prayer.
What a buzz it was to see our local Councillors, our new Mayor and ex mayor, guests and representatives of CATH (Chester Aid to the Homeless) and fellow church members and their guests supporting this new vision for our church.

The link was a different place, as someone said it was palpable with excitement. God’s presence was certainly felt.
All of us who were in the kitchen and serving were kept very busy with teas, coffees, freshly prepared sandwiches and homemade cakes and of course the Special of the Day which was Lasagne, garlic bread and salad.  I can assure you it was just as tasty as it sounds.

This is just the start of more to come. I am hoping that this will encourage you all to pop in on Thursday to sample some it or perhaps all of it.
Please continue to pray that God will bless this work and that all our volunteers will continue to be energized and be filled with continuous excitement and God’s Love as we make his Love known.

  1. 'Loving God and making His love known' was what the launch of our community cafe was all about last Thursday - 'A different Taste @ St. Mark's'. There was a real feeling of excitement and enthusiasm, energy and expectation which I put down to the movement of the Holy Spirit, and the power of prayer. It was so exciting to be there...and so blessed by the feedback from the local community, whether from the new Mayor of Saltney and other local councillors, to the guests who came, and who are just beginning to find fellowship and friendship at St. Mark's; from the youngest babe to the eldest guest. We hope and pray that you will continue to experience, 'Good food, good company and good news'at 'A different Taste @ St. Mark's' every Thursday between 10 am and 1.30 pm.

I look forward to meeting you then. Revd. Hennie
